I’m Tabitha, the owner and cleaner behind The Sparkling Songbird. When you invite Songbird into your home, you know exactly who is coming through the door: me.
Why “The Sparkling Songbird”?
Long before there was a Sparkling Songbird, I was known as the singing cleaning lady.
Singing while I clean has always been one of those things I do without really thinking about it. During my time cleaning in a retirement community, the residents got used to hearing me coming down the hall with a song. They would ask what was stuck in my head that day, and some could even tell what kind of mood I was in by what I was singing.
One resident discovered just how seriously I took my unofficial title when she unexpectedly came home and caught me singing while I cleaned her bathroom.
More specifically… I was singing to her toilet.
Apparently that was enough of an audition, because she decided I could really sing and I was promptly “volunt-told” into the retirement community’s musical.
No audition. No prepared song.
Just a cleaning lady, a surprised resident… and a toilet.
Years later, when I began building a cleaning business of my own, Songbird felt like me. It connects two things that have followed me through my life: cleaning and music. And Sparkling captures what I want to leave behind—a home that feels cared for, refreshed, and just a little brighter than when I arrived.
So The Sparkling Songbird isn’t simply a cute business name. It’s a little piece of my story.

During my time cleaning in a retirement community, singing became part of the workday without me ever planning it that way. Residents got used to hearing me before they saw me, asking what song was stuck in my head and sometimes recognizing my mood by what I was singing.
That little piece of my cleaning history eventually followed me all the way into the name The Sparkling Songbird.

Before The Sparkling Songbird became my own business, I built my cleaning experience in a wide variety of professional environments.
My background includes residential cleaning, senior-living communities, commercial facilities, financial environments, government buildings, and controlled-access and security-sensitive workplaces. I’ve worked both independently and in lead and supervisory roles, with responsibilities extending beyond simply completing a cleaning checklist.
Some of those environments required enhanced background screening, access-control procedures, careful attention to privacy and confidentiality, and strict facility protocols.
That experience taught me something I carry into every Songbird client’s home or office:
Cleaning well is only part of the job. Being trustworthy in someone else’s space matters just as much.
I understand what it means to be given access to places people consider private, important, or sensitive. I’m accustomed to following instructions carefully, respecting boundaries, noticing details, working independently, and leaving a space cared for without disturbing the life or work happening inside it.
My professional background has included everything from routine custodial care and detailed residential cleaning to floor care, inspections, senior-living housekeeping, lead-cleaner responsibilities, and supervisory work.
Today, I bring that experience into The Sparkling Songbird — along with something a little more personal:
